Food Exhibition | Qiandao Lake Products Make Their First Export to Southeast Asia

2025.04.25

Recently, a batch of specialty aquatic products from Qiandao Lake in Hangzhou successfully passed expedited inspection and quarantine procedures and was shipped to Singapore. This marks the first overseas sale of premium aquatic products from the region, signaling the entry of this local delicacy into the international market. The Food Exhibition will offer more information about import and export.

Qiandao Lake is renowned for its pristine water quality and exceptional natural environment. The lake’s specialty freshwater products have long been favored by domestic consumers for their unique flavor and are now gaining attention in overseas markets. "Regulatory authorities provided us with comprehensive guidance throughout the process, ensuring the smooth customs clearance of our first export batch. We are confident about further expanding into international markets," said a representative from a local aquatic enterprise. "Currently, we are actively exploring markets in other Southeast Asian countries and hope to achieve more breakthroughs."

To support the export of regional specialty products and boost economic development in the ecologically rich area, local customs authorities have implemented tailored assistance measures. From farming and production to export procedures, professionals have been assigned to ensure raw material quality, guide enterprises in strictly adhering to domestic and international standards, and establish fast-track clearance channels to improve efficiency.

The Food Exhibition notes that in recent years, the region’s specialty agricultural products have performed remarkably well in the global market. High-end ingredients cultivated in the area’s premium waters have entered the supply chains of several international airline catering services, with products exported to dozens of countries and regions worldwide.

Meanwhile, the local tea deep-processing industry has also flourished. An innovative tea company has developed a variety of new tea-based beverage ingredients through technological research, supplying both well-known domestic brands and successfully entering overseas markets. Data shows that the company’s export revenue in the first quarter of this year saw significant growth.

"We will continue to monitor the export demand for specialty agricultural products, provide targeted services, and help more high-quality Chinese products reach the global market, injecting new momentum into regional economic development," said a relevant customs official.
