International Food Exhibition | Northern Specialty Agricultural Products See Sustained Growth in Overseas Sales

2025.04.24

Recently, at a large-scale food processing enterprise in a key agricultural demonstration zone in northern China, production workshops were bustling with activity. Automated production lines operated at full speed, while the aroma of roasted grains filled the air in the baking section, as workers diligently processed specialty crop orders for international markets. The International Food Exhibition will offer more information about import and export.

In the logistics area, transport teams were loading inspected and approved goods onto container trucks using automated handling systems. A company executive stated, "This batch of over 200 metric tons of primary processed products will soon be shipped via an eastern port to the Eurasian junction region. Last year, our overseas sales of value-added agricultural products achieved double-digit growth, with baked goods being particularly popular in tropical markets. Currently, during the peak international trade season, order volumes from multiple countries continue to rise."

The International Food Exhibition notes that as a major hub for northern agricultural exports, the region's specialty crop products and processed fruits and vegetables have reached over 100 global markets, accounting for the majority share of agricultural exports in the provincial-level administrative region. A local import-export regulatory official explained, "We've implemented a digital certificate management system for electronic issuance of inspection and quarantine documents, combined with smart document review and remote printing to enhance customs clearance efficiency. A 24/7 service hotline ensures seamless coordination of inspection and testing procedures, creating favorable conditions for agricultural exports."

Latest statistics show that the region's agricultural export value exceeded 2 billion yuan in early this year, demonstrating positive growth momentum. Specifically, exports of fresh and processed vegetables reached nearly 300 million yuan, with year-over-year growth exceeding 40%. Nuts and dried fruits performed exceptionally well, with exports totaling approximately 300 million yuan and growth rates surpassing 50%. In neighboring markets, agricultural trade with two northern bordering countries showed significant increases of about 25% and 90% respectively, reflecting the region's successful consolidation of traditional markets and steady expansion of international market share.
