2025.03.26

Looking Ahead to SIAL Shanghai 2025

As we prepare for SIAL Shanghai 2025, we invite you to explore the rich heritage of Saudi Arabia—a land where tradition meets innovation, and where the sweet aroma of dates welcomes visitors from around the world.

Dates: The Cultural Jewel of Saudi Arabia

Dates are more than just food in Saudi Arabia; they are deeply woven into its cultural fabric. Often called the "Bread of the Desert", dates have been a vital source of nutrition for centuries. During Ramadan, they are the first food consumed to break the fast, symbolizing blessings and generosity. In traditional Saudi hospitality, guests are welcomed with dates and Arabic coffee, a time-honored gesture of warmth and respect.

Saudi Arabia is home to some of the world’s finest date varieties, including Ajwa, Sukkari, and Khalas, known for their rich caramel-like sweetness, soft texture, and natural energy-boosting properties. Today, dates are not only enjoyed in their natural form but also transformed into date syrups, chocolate-covered dates, and healthy snacks, showcasing a perfect blend of tradition and modern innovation.
