International Food Exhibition | Heilongjiang Province Imports Honey for Processing via Border Trade for the First Time

2025.03.19

On February 24, a truck loaded with Russian natural honey arrived at the Xunke Port Border Trade Zone after passing the preliminary inspection at the border checkpoint. According to people involved in the international food exhibition, on March 13, the batch of honey was assessed as qualified by Xunke Customs, and the customs clearance procedures were smoothly completed. After being verified by the border residents, the honey will be transported to the Xunke Economic Development Zone for processing. This marks the first time that Heilongjiang Province has imported honey for processing through border trade, a successful practice of the innovative development model of border trade. It signifies that the Xunke Port has taken a solid step in transforming from a "transit economy" to a "port-based processing economy."

"Our border residents' cooperative has signed a purchase and sales contract with the processing enterprise. Through the border trade processing and customs clearance model, we can directly transport the honey to the processing plant. This not only saves costs but also improves efficiency, allowing us border residents to truly benefit from the policy," said Zhao Yurong, a representative of the Xunke County Rongzhuo Border Trade Cooperative.

Xunke Customs accurately aligns with the local development concepts of "revitalizing the county through the port" and "linking the zone with the port." It continuously strengthens the promotion and interpretation of facilitation measures for border trade processing and customs policies. It supports the local area in seizing the opportunity of the pilot project for processing imported goods through border trade, promotes the development of the processing industry, and enhances the added value of imported goods through border trade. At the same time, it actively guides the border trade zone to engage in diversified business planning, promotes the optimization and upgrading of the regulatory site, constructs a large-scale inbound goods regulatory warehouse, and meets the functions of prepackaged food storage and transportation of processed goods. This lays a solid foundation for the operation of the "border trade plus processing" model.
